2008 Diamond Award for Outstanding Voluntary Programs

Hytek Finishes
Kent

This company wins the “Rookie of the Year” award for their innovative commute program located in Kent. Hytek offers a 100% subsidy to their employees for train, vanshare and transit through FlexPass. The company has multiple shifts for their employees and still manages to have an effective, results-oriented commute option program in an area that has very limited transit service. With the generous subsidy, the single driver rate has been reduced by 50%. Management support and employee willingness to work together combine to create a very effective program.

*Some definitions: An "ETC" is the staff-level employee transportation coordinator responsible for the daily administration of the transportation program. "SOV" stands for single-occupant vehicle, and "CTR" for commute trip reduction.
